They say that there’s no such thing as a free ride.
They also say that the good guys always finish last.
Well, this is one time that we get to put both of those tired, old,
worn out clichés to rest!
You see, Robin [above mentioned good guy, or in this case ‘good girl’]
is one of those people that is very giving, good hearted, and always there
to lend a hand. She has been complaining, sometimes very loudly, to her
friends that she is a member of a classic car club but has yet to become
the owner of a classic vehicle. She has looked, drooled, and lusted after
many cars she has seen for sale but has yet to find one that she can ‘afford’.
After all, we have all seen the cause and effect of that wonderful thing
called Barrett Jackson! So, cars that used to cost a few hundred to a
thousand dollars now cost several thousands of dollars.
Sorry, I am ranting. Back to the story…
So, here was someone that is always the first to help, always there when
needed, with a warm smile and a huge heart. Your average, every day
good ‘ol girl who was yearning for her own classic vehicle.
Well, her friends were always on the look out for something to fulfill her
dream [or maybe they were looking for something that would finally shut
her up and stop all the complaining!]. Here’s where the other cliché is broken…
You see, Matt met this nice old gentleman, Fred, who had this old truck.
Fred mentioned that his father had bought this truck new in Oklahoma and it has
been in the family ever since. He said he might be interested in letting it go.
After a few months of thinking it over, Fred called Matt and told him he was ready
to sell it ‘for a great price’. Matt agreed to take a look at the truck and discuss the sale.
This is what he found…
